Tommy's 21st Birthday!

i can't believe our little Tommy is now 21!!!! i can still remember when he was born... time flys by sooo fast and look how big he is now! and Luca is starting to learn from his uncle Tommy how to hold a beer bottle!

Green Day!!!

here we are at our weekly Alameda Mom's group and today is St. Patty's Day. Every babies and moms today were all in GREEN-how fun!!! you can't see this but Luca actually wet through his pants and shirt... so much for the green shirt-off it goes!

Muir Beach

we thought Luca will be excited to see a real live horse other than seeing it from his books, but i don't think he gets it.. maybe next time.

i love this sun hat, it's soo big and it's got a huge flap in the back, i call this the Pope hat!

Last month has been raining here and there and actually pretty cold (35 degrees during the day)-- so cold that they thought it was going to snow in SF... but it never did.. but it haled here in Oakland and SF throughout the day. We went to Muir Beach the next day since snow never arrived and the sun was out, so we decided to go for a nice hike. This was Luca first visit to the BEACH!!! We love going to Muir Beach from Green Gulch Farm ,a Zen Center. They have a beautiful garden, 3 acres of vegetable farm, and a few horses there i think for horseback riding (?). We packed some sandwiches and fruit and off we go!! i thought Luca was dressed pretty warm with a blanket around the carrier but i think his hands and feet were cold since they were dangling out... sorry Luca it was our first outdoor hike--since then I've bought him a fleece booties, sock mittens and we packed our bags pretty well with lots of "what ifs". There's always gonna be a first to learn what not to do next.

Luca's Baptism

Luca got baptised on 1/22/2011 12:10PM at Newman Hall Parish by Father Bernard Campbell. We wanted to baptise Luca before grandma Natalia goes back to Portugal the following week. Luca was 10 weeks old here and looking very mature, especially with the bow tie!!! I couldn't find him a baptism outfit and Marco didn't want him to wear a white dress so.... we just dressed him up and i made in a bow tie for this special day. i was also gonna make one for Marco -hahahah should've made him some buttons to match with Luca.

The service was about 45 min. on Sat. we've only invited family and our wedding party to join this special event. My brother Michael is the Godfather!! Afterwards we all went to East Ocean in Alameda for some Dim Sum while Luca slept through lunch.

doggies!!!

this was Luca's first time seeing a dog besides his stuffed animal or his black & white images of a dog. i still don't think he's very interested...

we were at temescal's farmer's market last weekend and they have a doggy daycare where you can drop you dog off while you're at the market- so berkeley. we really like coming here, it's small/manageable and not a lot of people there at 9 am in the morning. we usually get our blue bottle coffee and some yummy pastries, veggies, fruits, and $2 flowers :-) then we go for a walk along a small dried up creek near by and smell the eucalyptus trees-that's our sunday morning!!!

Luca loves his monkey! (thanks David)

we play with this monkey every morning and he is just as tall as him at 25". Luca gives him a big bite every morning and some how the monkey always ended up on top of his head!

i was cutting his nails today and realized that i had cut his little skin. It didn't bled at the time until after a few hours of playing, i then noticed this on his little finger. mama is sorry Luca :-(

The Perfect Lunch

finally i get to eat raw veggies again! before i was pregnant i would eat salads pretty much 4x a week. when i was pregnant raw veggies would not set well in my tummy, i guess it was too fibrous for me. i had to peel all sort of skins before eating it, like apples and pears and forget about raw broccoli... i really missed eating a real good fresh salad.

I cooked some steak the night before and we had some left overs, so i added into our herb salad mix with tomatoes, green apples, and i cooked a perfect boiled egg ever!!! it was just so yummy and i was sooo satisfied :=)

I've never seen Luca fallen asleep upright before - too cute!! and Marco was working too, talk about multi tasking!

we got all bundled up and head off to visit the Merrill's in San Jose.

Luca's Corner

Well, finally we're done with his little corner. We painted the birds on the wall (papa bird, mama bird and baby Luca bird) right after the New Year to finish his little corner. Luca only has what he needs a crib, dresser with changing pad at the top, diapers & etc. bins on the wall and a few of his little friends around his crib. Then his mama and papa sleeps next to his crib.

we visited my office and Marco's, my office is actually right across the street (the white building) and we can probably see from each other's office. Here are some images at Marco's new office, that's Natalia in the back changing his diaper on Marco's desk - NICE! no accidents on the fabric panels - thank God.

mello-hello

this was taken a few days ago.

Luca is so big now just look at the size of his head! and he's so tall that we have to wear the next size up. we just weight him and we think he's about 16lbs (he was 13lbs 8oz at 8 weeks).he loves to smile and "gaa" is his favorite word right now and when he's sad he cries out "umm--maaaa". Luca is 11 weeks old, sleeps about 4-5 hours at night both Marco and I still gets up once in the middle of the night to feed and change him. 7:30AM is usually the time he gets up and he'll just look around and play for about 20 min. until he makes loud noise to wakes me up-what a good baby he knows that mama still need her sleep! he's really a good mello baby and i think this picture captured the best.

Luca loves to watch TV (already!!!) and loves his remote control.

"Hefner" style

This pooh robe came with booties and i thought -- hey it's like Hugh Hefner with his matching robe and slippers! thanks auntie Amanda for my warm fuzzy robe!!!

knitted hat

i started knitting this little hat for him when he was still in my tummy and now i'm all done and his head is just too big for it :-( oh well time to start knitting another one.

Merry Christmas + Happy New Year!

We had Marco's mom, aunt and uncle visiting us (Luca) this Christmas. The celebration was at our place well... next door to us since Unit #3 is selling and the house is empty for the holidays, so we rented the place for the family to stay. Luca was the star, of course and his cute little reindeer and penguin outfits were a hit!!! Luca was being passed around the room like a prop for everyone to take pictures with. Luca had a great time, but towards the end of the day he was just exhausted from getting all celebrations that the cried and cried and drove everyone home at 7 PM. Santa dropped off a cute little reindeer for us and we are truly blessed to have him in our lives. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
